London Film Festival 2011

Now in its 55th year, the BFI London Film Festival shows feature films, documentaries, shorts, animation and artists' film and video, attracting leading international filmmakers, industry professionals and the media, together with a public audience of over 132,000 for a two week showcase of the best in contemporary world cinema.

Christie's strong partnership with the BFI, supplying DLP Cinema® projectors, sponsorship and training support, is reflected by its involvement with the festival for the past eight years. Many of the festival's 204 feature films and 110 shorts will be shown on Christie projectors, over its 16-day run.

With over 80 years’ experience in cinema to call upon, Christie has long played an important role in the BFI’s development, providing sponsorship and training support. According to Richard Boyd, Head of Technical Services at the BFI, the introduction and subsequent advances in digital cinema technology made by Christie have been particularly important for the BFI.
