Speaking of the company's enhanced level of participation, Dale Miller, Vice President, Christie EMEA, stated: "We are pleased to be able to introduce so many new products at IBC, including our latest non-cinema 4K projector to audiences in the EMEA territories. We are equally delighted to be back as the official D-Cinema technology partner for the IBC D-Cinema conference programme, and to have the opportunity to gives attendees to the exhibitor sessions a chance to view the state of the art in projection and join in high-profile screenings."
Among systems and devices on view in Europe for the first time are the following:
Christie J Series: The new Christie J Series, which marks the next generation of its 3-chip DLP® Xenon platform, will make its worldwide debut at IBC 2011. The J Series targets a variety of applications within the rental staging and fixed install markets, as well as advanced visualisation and simulation segments. It expands the current Christie Roadster, Mirage and Matrix 3-chip DLP Xenon lines and offers the flexibility for customers to continue using existing Xenon product accessories – lamps, stacking mounts and lenses – as well as newer M Series input cards and lens accessories. New features include WUXGA resolution in a Xenon projector and embedded Christie Twist™ with all J Series models that allows for image warping without purchasing additional electronics cards.
Christie LX1200: The successor to the popular Christie LX1000, the Christie LX1200 is suitable for rental staging applications, corporate boardrooms, higher education facilities and houses of worship. Featuring XGA (1024 x 768) resolution, and with an extremely broad range of lens options, the Christie LX1200 fills the market need for a high brightness, low cost projector providing radiant imagery and finer contrast. The two-lamp Christie LX1200 utilizes the 4DColor™ technology that incorporates a fourth (yellow) LCD panel, delivering vibrant colours to presentations. The LX1200 also features a mechanical light shutter to block light when required, inorganic LCD panels for long life expectancy and increased performance levels, and top loading lamps for quick and easy replacement.
Christie LHD700: Also joining the LCD series is the Christie LHD700, a 7000 lumens full HD 1080p (1920 x 1080) resolution projector utilising a single lamp and 4DColor technology; this is ideal for auditoriums, corporate boardrooms, government, higher education, houses of worship, and fixed and rental staging applications requiring native widescreen content, high resolution data and superior brightness. The LHD700's AutoFilter cartridge system monitors airflow for up to 10,000 hours while its extended lamp life minimises downtime. Expandable for network controlled asset management and monitoring, the LHD700 is a premium projector with a low ownership cost.
Christie D4K35: The first presentation of this new 4K DLP projection system will be aimed at non-cinema applications demanding the highest resolutions and brightness. This will include powerwalls and other advanced simulation and visualisation applications. The Christie D4K35 can be seen on Christie's stand in a rear-projection set-up common to powerwall applications. The 32,500 ANSI lumens projector, with 2000:1 contrast ratio, offers native 4K (4096 x 2160) resolution, and superior DLP performance and durability, making it ideal for large sized applications such as amusement parks, auditoriums automotive design, classrooms, museums, planetariums, screening rooms and visualisation.
Christie FHD551-X: A new LCD backlit LED panel for tiled solutions in command and control applications, this 55" panel offers native HD resolution (1920 x 1080), impressive 3000:1 contrast ratio and full field of up to 700 nits brightness. It also comes with an Image Retention Frame Motion (IFRM), which allows the Christie FHD551-X to display a static image over long periods of time, while avoiding image retention and burn in — making the product ideal for 24/7 mission critical applications.
Christie Interactivity Kit: Developed exclusively for Christie MicroTiles™, and following the success encountered at InfoComm 2011 by the 'Graffiti Wall', Christie will preview a new version of its Interactivity kit as part of a studio-set concept with content relevant to broadcasting applications. The interactivity kit differs from other gesture and touch based systems currently on the market in offering much faster input response times and up to 16 gestures pointing across the canvas at any one time.
Christie JumpStart: Another product previewed at IBC 2011 is the Christie JumpStart. Extending the functionalities of Christie MicroTiles, Christie Jumpstart enables users to display content in windows that can be 'snapped' to fit the available resolution of the MicroTiles canvas. Alternatively, the frames can be snapped to fit the array shapes themselves or any defined area of the MicroTiles canvas. Christie JumpStart looks to bridge the gap between Christie MicroTiles' unique building block concept of irregular display shapes and existing user content, enabling users to 'fit' more content to more MicroTiles shapes without the need to develop bespoke content for each new shape.
