Paris, France (4th April 2011) – On 31 May 2010, Christie, the world leader in digital projection systems, received the prestigious Janus Industrial Design award from the Institut Français du Design (French Institute of Design or IFD), for its modular digital signage solution called Christie MicroTilesTM.

Now, Christie MicroTiles are again in the spotlight, receiving "Eco-Design" honours from the IFD at the Janus awards ceremony held today in Paris at the French Economic, Social and Environmental Council. In attendance were governmental ministers Frédéric Lefèbvre and Pierre Lellouche, the heads of the Ministries of Commerce (for Craft Industries, Small Businesses, Tourism, Services, Professionals and Consumption), and International Trade, respectively.

Supported by the Agency for Environmental and Energy Management (ADEME), the IFD's Janus Eco-Design designation seeks to promote products and services with reduced environmental impact, beginning with the selection of materials, through the manufacturing stage, the product’s distribution and use by the consumer, all the way to the end of its useful life.

Introduced to the EMEA market in February 2010, Christie MicroTiles have already received five awards: the awards for Best Interior Digital Signage Product and Most Innovative Product (rAVe Digital Signage CHAMPS - USA); the Most Innovative Video Display Solution Award (Systems Contractor News and InfoComm International®- InfoComm 2010); the Installation Europe Editor's Award for the revolutionary optical design of MicroTiles (ISE 2010 - the Netherlands); and the Janus Industrial Design 2010 award, now with honours for eco-friendly design (French Institute of Design - Paris).
