Mönchengladbach, (May 2011) – Following the success of previous years, Visopta AG from Schlieren in Switzerland once more put on a roadshow this year. The Swiss Christie partner and distributor is celebrating its 15th anniversary and invited its clients to two locations. 18th – 19th May were the dates for the Dübendorf venue, while French-Swiss guests assembled at Orbe on 25th – 26th May.
Christie offered its congratulations and supported the company with Christie MicroTiles™, together with high performance projection systems. Apart from HD projection, key aspects of the road show were particularly the topics of Virtual Reality and 3D. Various applications from the virtual world were displayed, using different models of the Christie Mirage M Series.
The Mirage M Series is based upon the proven 3-chip DLP technology and is diverse and efficient, offering three types of 3D inputs: ranging from a repeat frequency of up to 120 Hz, a secondary mode for sequential input signals and for input devices with an image repeat frequency of 60 Hz that doubles to 120 Hz. With the second input module, a passive stereo source can be projected with 120 Hz in dual-input 3D mode without the need for an external passive to active converter. To provide an active stereo application with TechViz software and A.R.T tracking system, Visopta used a Christie Mirage HD10K-M that showed application examples from the watch industry and architecture. Because of the high light output of the Mirage HD10K-M, a particularly good light immersion can also be generated in the bright environment of a showroom.
Christie MicroTiles™, that have already been used successfully in Switzerland by the Emme company, were on display in two versions. First of all as a 4x5 MicroTiles display and also in 2 columns of 1x5 MicroTiles, that were positioned as design elements. With this display technology, virtually seamless digital displays can be created in almost every size and shape. The system, which consists of LEDs und DLP® technology, is ideally suited to long-term and reliable applications at the most diverse sites and has already won multiple awards since its market introduction last year.
Visopta also demonstrated a panorama projection using two Christie HD10K-M projectors that were controlled via the Christie Spyder X20 universal image processor, as well as the 42 CONTROLS® media console. The 16 inputs of the Spyder X20-1608 were used to show a large number of sources on the panoramic projection as well as on the Christie MicroTiles displays, proving the suitability and its flexibility when it comes to show and events creation.
More than 300 visitors, including noted Swiss companies, attended the events in order to find out about the current innovations and possibilities offered by HD and 3D projection.
